AIMA stands for Agência para a Integração, Migrações e Asilo (Agency for Integration, Migration, and Asylum). It is Portugal's government agency responsible for managing immigration, processing residence permits, and handling asylum requests. AIMA replaced the former SEF (Serviço de Estrangeiros e Fronteiras) in 2023.
